Psychologically speaking, a negative mindset seldom gets us anywhere. It can cause demotivation, abandonment of, or stalled progress on our tasks or goals; and worse still, it can be cyclical.
𝗢𝗸, 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲. 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁?
- If you're feeling negative today, acknowledge that this is OK. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹. This isn't about toxic positivity.
- Rather than try to stop or quell negative thoughts, 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. Each negative will usually have an opposing positive. These can be framed as opportunities. Example - I failed. 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆 - 𝗜 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱.
- Take a few moments to pause and be mindful before you communicate with others. Your negativity may be noticeable and could 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 which may not be your intent.
